Privacy Policy — Piper Rose's World

Piper Rose's World is a learning app designed for children. We built it to be private by default. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information. This policy explains exactly what the app does and does not do with information.

Short version

• No accounts. No sign-in. No ads. No analytics or tracking SDKs.
• A child's profile (a name or nickname, grade level, chosen avatar, and learning progress) is stored only on the device and never sent to us or anyone else.
• The app makes a small number of network requests for optional content (music previews and story videos). These send only a search term — never your child's name or any personal information.

Information stored on the device (only)

When you create a learner profile, the app saves the following locally on your device using the operating system's standard app storage. None of it leaves the device:

• A first name or nickname you choose for the learner
• The selected grade level and avatar
• Learning progress and quiz/mastery scores
• App settings (such as whether voices are muted)

This information is never uploaded, backed up to our servers (we have none), or transmitted to any third party. Deleting a profile in the app, or uninstalling the app, removes it.

Children's privacy (COPPA / Families)

Piper Rose's World is intended for children and complies with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Google Play's Families policy. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app has no accounts, no chat with strangers, no behavioral advertising, and no data collection. Any name entered is a local label only and is stored solely on the device.

Network requests the app makes

The app works almost entirely offline. It connects to the internet only for these optional features, and only sends the minimum needed:

• Music previews — searches Apple's iTunes Search API (itunes.apple.com) to play short 30-second song previews. Only the song/artist search term is sent.
• Bible story videos — opens a YouTube search link in your browser/YouTube app. Only the search term is sent; this leaves Piper Rose's World and is governed by Google/YouTube's policies.
• Voice — the app's spoken voice uses your device's built-in text-to-speech and works fully offline. No audio or text is sent to us for voice.

We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of Apple's iTunes service or YouTube. No personal information about your child is included in these requests.

Device permissions and why they are used

• Internet / Wi-Fi state — for the optional music previews and story-video links above.
• Bluetooth and Nearby Wi-Fi — used only for the local, device-to-device multiplayer feature, which connects two nearby devices directly. No multiplayer data is sent over the internet or to us. (The "neverForLocation" flag is set; the app does not use these for location.)

Data sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent, or share any information. We use no advertising networks and no third-party analytics or tracking.

Data retention and deletion

Because all data is stored only on your device, you are in full control. To delete it:

• Remove a learner profile from within the app, or
• Uninstall the app, which deletes all locally stored data.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and post the new version at the policy's public URL.
